Art Camp for Adults is back!

Y’all! It’s baaaack! Art Camp for Adults is returning for summer 2024!

I am so excited to tell you about this idea that has been simmering—growing—fermenting, if you will.

For the longest time, I taught summer art camps for kids and it was a blast! The kids and I had so much fun that parents always asked me if they could join too. These days I teach workshops, but they tend to fill up within 30 minutes and folks can’t always make the time slot work with busy schedules. I’m here to tell ya, I get it. Time is a limiting factor, so I’m bringing Art Camp for Adults straight to your inbox for some fun summertime inspiration with an invitation to play.

Each week for 6 weeks this summer I’ll send you one of my favorite drink recipes along with art inspiration and an art prompt that you can try if you like. From abstract painting to nature inspired art, we’re here to savor this season of life together. No prior art skills necessary. Promise.

What’s the catch? There isn’t one. I get to plan fun mini-lessons and inspire you, and you get to be inspired! If you’re not already on it and you want in, hop on my Studio Insiders email list and all the fun stuff will land in your inbox starting June 6th. If you already get emails from me, you’re all set.

Have you ever wondered what cocktail pairs perfectly with Matisse’s color palette or the connection between the color green and creative joy?

Have you ever wanted to learn to paint but felt like your time had already passed? There’s still plenty of time, and it won’t take nearly as long as you think it will. Let’s have some fun, shall we?

My hope is that we can all learn some new summer cocktail (or mocktail) recipes and make a handful of mini art projects while feeling inspired and creative. Along the way, I’ll share some of the benefits of creativity.

For the art prompts, use any kind of art materials you want and take them in any direction you choose. Let’s let curiosity guide us and let go of our fears for a few weeks. Give yourself permission to take a leap and try something new. Follow along with watercolor, gouache, drawing, doodling, Sharpie scribbles, collage, scrapbooking, pipe cleaner sculpting, photography, mud or just with your mind. If you make the art— cool. If not— cool— send me your drink art instead!

Either way, I would love to see your work. Share it on Instagram and tag it with #artcampforadults and @katie_podracky so I can find it and celebrate you! There will be surprises and awards along the way. (hint hint!) Not on Instagram? Don’t want to share on social media? No problemo- just send it to me via email so I can celebrate with you there too.

One day I’ll make t-shirts for us…. but for now, let’s start with the art.

xoxo,

Katie
