The Commission Process
Dream and Share.
It helps my creative process to see images of your ideas, inspiration and space. I also love hearing about the colors that speak to you (or ones that don’t) and your favorite existing paintings on my website. Tell me why this dream is important to you and who will enjoy it with you through the years. Your choices in fabrics, paint colors, and furniture in the chosen space can also help inform my artistic decisions and guide your custom commission so that I can tailor it specifically to you.
Size.
Once you know where your painting will go, choose a size and orientation for your project. I am happy to help you decide if you’re unsure of what will look best in your space. When you fill out the commission request form on the “Let’s Do This” button above, I will send you some standard sizes. At this time, I am only accepting commissions sized 24” x 36” and larger.
Pricing.
My prices for commissioned pieces start at about $1,600 and run slightly higher in price than ready-to-ship paintings. This accounts for the extra time and love I spend creating a customized pice of art that meets your desires. I require a 50% deposit to begin, with the remaining balance, plus shipping, due when your painting is complete. Local delivery is available. For North Carolina residents, sales tax will be added. I typically limit my commissions to a handful of projects each year.
Create.
Once we discuss the project and I have your approval, the painting begins. When I feel like your painting is ready for a reveal, I’ll send photos and you can request any changes you’d like. Once your painting is approved, I will send you the amount for the final payment with shipping costs. Typically, I have a waitlist for commissions, as I only accept a handful of commission projects annually. My commission paintings begin in the summer and are usually ready to be shipped by the fall.
